Exquisite Video Corpse

The Santa Barbara Museum of Art invited us to create an interactive experience for a reception celebrating their Nam June Paik exhibit. We created a three tiered video monitor shelf with three independent vintage video cameras feeding images to the 1990’s era televisions. Guests were recorded in front of the set up with their head, bodies and feet being captured by a separate camera to magnetic tape. After we recorded a couple dozen participants we played the tapes back at different speeds. The result was an exciting combination of different people’s bodies being spliced together in a video magic trick.
